Synopsis

The 3rd Eye of Alley Cat Slick is a compilation of love poems, lyrics, political, social and religious opinions as interpreted by Kevin Brooks. Although this is the second book from author Alley Cat Slick, it’s unique from his first book Willowcreek Disciple in that it isn’t a novel.

In this book, Alley Cat Slick displays a versatility that transcends a particular genre or writing style. He has proven that he is more than a writing one hit wonder; rather he is a permanent fixture on the literary scene.

At times this book will evoke your intellectual side. At other times the author boldly declares his religious beliefs. Someone’s his pain will leap off the pages. His romantic side will be made evident from the love poems that he created.

All and all: The 3rd eye of Alley Cat Slick is a masterfully written book that proves that Alley Cat Slick is an artist that happens to write books. The concept of the book was a creative from its conception, and is sure to give birth to a masterpiece.

Synopsis

A group of 6 young thugs from the inner-city in Houston, Texas; finds out the hard way that the gangster lifestyle isn’t all that it’s cracked out to be. One by one, each member of the Willowcreek posse experiences his own persona; tragedy.
After living through a couple of murder attempts, robberies, drug smuggling, betrayal, the lost of friends to violence, and a paralysis; the main character Tank surrenders his life to God.

Meanwhile, the 2 remaining members of the posse continue to relish in their illegal endeavours. After a dispute, which led to a shootout, the law quickly apprehended one of the gang members. The remaining member fed the State and continued his illegal activities. Ultimately, he is arrested and brought to justice for his participation in the shooting.

The main character Tank gets married and eventually has two children. Ironically he realizes that his life is finally prospering although the money isn’t coming in, as fast as once was the case.

Willowcreek Disciple gives an accurate depiction of the ills on the streets. Many of our youths are misinformed about the perils involved with that lifestyle. Hopefully after reading this book they will see that being a gangster is a no win situation.
