Willowcreek Disciple

Introduction to "Willowcreek Disciple"

These are the events that lead to the demise of a small criminal enterprise. A group of six young thugs made up the Willowcreek posse. The named derived from their apartment complex, Willowcreek apartments. All were the ages between twenty through twenty-three and had their run-ins with the law and other thugs affiliated with other gangs. The members went by the name of Tank Playa, Pop, Solo, Suga, and Pookie. For the most part, they had known each other for the most of their lives.

The leader of the pose was Tank, a twenty-three year old smooth talker and dresser. Now Tank was one of those brothers that over-ambitious young brothers wanted to be like. He had the women, money and clothes. He was handsome, charming, and when worst came to worst, ruthless. The only blemish he had on his record was a trafficking and possession charge of marijuana and crack. Since he would not reveal his supplier, the judge had given tank a five-year sentence, of which three years and a day he had served. When he was out of prison and back on the streets, he was considered a true gangster, and the younger gangsters revered him. I guess this promotion into the world of crime made Tank take it upon himself to run his own crew. Tank was originally from New York City but he moved to Huston with his mom when he was ten years old, so he considered himself a Houstonian. However, being born in the Big Apple, he felt that he had to live up to a reputation of being a hardcore city boy. When Tank first moved to Houston, Playa was the first fiend friend he had made. That is why people were under the impression that the two were brothers. If one saw Tank, Playa was usually in the vicinity.

Playa was the next in charge of the delinquents. Playa was a twenty-one-year-old thug, who, as you can tell by his name, was quite a ladies’ man. He believed he was a hustler by nature. In a strange way, he felt that he was justified of all his actions. After all, he often said, “My old man is dead, plus I’m only a product of my environment; if I don’t hustle then I don’t eat.” His dad had died of an aneurism, excessive drinking being the main contributor. For that reason, Playa despised anyone who let alcohol take control of their lives, and he took on a father-figure roll in his household.

Pop was a twenty-year-old quick-tempered thug who had problems restraining his mouth. He had first been institutionalized at fourteen years old, and ever since them, he had been going in and out of the judiciary revolving door. He was always fighting; even if he knew the odds were against him, he was still willing to fight. He was a valuable member of the crew because he was always willing to scuffle. If he was told to rough up another thug, he would always agree. He was the sort of person who thrived on confrontations. Don’t get me wrong, Pop was a cool brother, but if you crossed him or got in his way, it was on.
